No Added Sugar Vegetarian Desserts:

No Added Sugar Sweet

Sweet potato with Date Syrup

Boil Sweet potatoes in water

Drain the water

Drizzled with date syrup

Dates and Water

Date Syrup


2 c Pitted Deglet Dates ($2.36 per lb at Wholefoods)

5 cups water – Soak overnight and Blend.

Store in the fridge.

Note: one can use medjool dates (more expensive)

Chia Coconut Mango Pudding

Note: i used raisins as a sweetener in this dish

1/4 c chia seeds

1 c coconut milk fresh or in the can

1/4 c apples sliced

1/2 c date syrup

1/4 tsp cardamom

1/4 tsp cinnamon


Combine all ingredients. Blend until smooth. Garnish with mango slices

Note: you can let the chia plump up first inside the coconut milk , then combine the spices and mix until well combined. Add more dates and raisins as topping if needed. Add the fruits and serve.
